The fort affords spectacular views of the city, and there is no shortage of stories about royal life. Next, make a stop at Jaswant Thada, Jodhpur royalty’s cenotaph constructed out of pure white marble. Follow this with a visit to the famed Umaid Bhavan Palace, one of India’s last great palaces, constructed pre-Independence. Using elements of Art Deco alongside Indian architecture in its visage, the palace boasts of a breathtaking 347 rooms, and had the distinction of being the world’s largest private residence when it was completed.
