Glimpse into the fascinating world of contemporary Indian arts, culture & sculpture, right in the heart of India’s busiest metros! This tour takes you through the Art Precinct of Mumbai’s British Heritage District introducing you to Kala Ghoda, the cultural centre of Mumbai, with its numerous art galleries, museums and cultural spaces, and pavement galleries, in addition to many shops, designer boutiques and restaurants that dot the area. It houses numerous heritage structures in various architectural styles including Indo Saracenic, Victorian Neo-Gothic, Renaissance Revival and Edwardian Neo Classical styles. A visual treat for sore eyes accustomed to high rise buildings of metros.
 
The Kala Ghoda Art Walk will take you down memory lanes as you go through galleries showcasing different schools of Indian art from the early 1900s to present modern Indian Art. You can see how Indian art was influenced by the West during colonial times, inculcating Western aesthetics while retaining a distinct identity for itself.
 
Let us know in advance if you wish to buy a piece of Indian Art. Since it is a group walk, you could familiarize yourself with the different artists and artistic styles, and perhaps return later if you wish to purchase it.
 
Tour Details: Every day of the week, except Mondays.Start at the National Gallery of Modern Art, opposite the Prince of Wales Museum. Starts at 11:00 a.m, and runs for 2 hours.
