The Jaisalmer Golden Fort Heritage Walk

 

 
Sona Kila or the Jaisalmer Golden Fort was built in 1156 and is a fortified settlement. Jaisalmer’s prime attraction, the fort houses royal palaces, temples, mansions and bazaars. Our local storytellers are well versed in the history of the fort and will share first-hand insight with you. You will learn about the various gates to enter the fort (Akhai Pol, Ganesh Pol, Suraj Pol, Hava Pol) and visit the Dushera Chowk, Fort Palace Museum, Jain temple (Shri Chandraprabhuswami Temple), and the Hindu temple (Laxminarayan Temple).

You will get a spectacular view of both the city and desert from the fort, and traverse residential streets and bazaars.
