This is a guided tour of Bikaner Must See’s. Our storytellers will lead you through your own private exploration of the city of Bikaner, from the Old City to the stone ‘havelis’ and camel breeding farm.
Junagarh Fort: Definitely Bikanar’s crown jewel of attractions, this 16th century fort houses a multitude of structures within. You will find yourself awestruck at the intricacy of the stone carved bastions, high walls, many palaces, courtyards, pavilions and balconies. There’s more in store- the richly painted and embellished interiors are sure to take your breath away! Mirror work, enamel work, gold work, shell finish, and lacquer work combine to create a majestic and lasting impression. History and culture buffs are sure to be enthralled by the royal relics like cannons, thrones, beds, swings, palanquins and not to be missed – a Haviland plane.
Take in the Old City (walking and autorickshaw tour) A walk through the Old City to experience markets including the Bada Bazaar market, see the distinctive red sandstone ‘havelis’ (mansions)shrines and ‘namkeen’ (snacks) shops. An autorickshaw ride through the narrow streets is an experience you won’t soon forget.
Camel Breeding Farm We will take you to the National Research Centre on Camel, the camel breeding farm run by the government that works to preserve the desert’s ecosystem. You can visit the camel pens and camel museum, learn about camel breeding and take a camel ride.
